A fitting tribute has been paid to a dedicated Gogebic County law enforcement official. The state has publicly acknowledged its appreciation for the long-time law enforcement efforts of Gogebic County Sheriff Donald Pezzetti.
Gogebic County Sheriff Donald Pezzetti presents Kara Dukakis with enforcement hats from the Ironwood Public Safety Department and the Gogebic County Sheriff's Department. Kara, on behalf of her father, Democratic Presidential candidate, Michael Dukakis, was the guest speaker at a reception at the Town House this morning.

Pezzetti was chosen from a field of applicants by Prosecuting Attorney Anders Tingstad, Probate Judge Timothy Mahoney, and County Clerk Melvin Peterson. Pezzetti, who has been acting Sheriff, was formerly undersheriff.
